Terms and Conditions

Welcome to our event order system. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before placing your order.

1. The Best of British

We aim to source as much as we can locally and from the UK focusing on seasonality. We pride ourselves on our efficiency and aim to guarantee the smooth operation of your meeting or event. Once you have made your selection please place your order via our hospitality booking form found under catering on the Trustnet. There is some ‘need to know’ information we will need from you, so please remember to include: Venue, date, time, contact number, cost centre, host name and dietary requirements.

2. Notice

We kindly request a minimum of 48 working hours notice for special functions, sandwich lunches, buffet and beverage requests. Although our standard service is 48 hours we will do whatever we can to assist last minute orders should this be required.

3. Cancellation

We appreciate there will be times when you have to cancel at short notice. In order to avoid cancellation charges please make us aware within the following timescales; beverage services within 1 hour, working lunches, buffets and special functions within 48 hours.

4. Orders

Late bookings will be accepted where possible by the unit manager - please call the appropriate extension before emailing the completed booking form. Products may be substituted at short notice when not available from supplier. Coffee & Tea is sold per person and orders stating pots will be charged per person. Water is sold in 750 ml bottles. In the interest of transportation, jugs are not available. Prices Shown are exclusive of VAT All food should be consumed within 2 hours of receipt when held at room temperature. All payment for non-Trust bookings MUST be paid in full before the event by credit or debit card. 48 hours’ notice is required in the event of cancellation. Weekend and out of hours hospitality services may incur an additional charge for labour. Catering equipment will be issued and collected only from the location of delivery. Any items that are missing will be charged for and the person booking agrees to this responsibility.

Due to Health & Safety reason we are unable to provide hot beverages around the perimeter of the hospital (only Main Building deliveries will be provided)

Order Delivery Window will be between 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Delivery within the operating hours is not guaranteed on unforeseen circumstances but we do have option for you to collect orders with prior intimation.

5. Dietary Requirements

Common medical / health requirements Allergies Food allergies must be checked thoroughly as they can result in serious consequences. Most common allergies are for nuts, seafood, shellfish, dairy products and gluten. If you require any allergen information for any dish or item, please contact the catering manager. Vegetarian Some vegetarians may eat fish but not all. Eggs are usually acceptable but it’s advisable to check. Vegan Will not eat any animal product. Diabetics Have to eat meals at regular intervals and can eat most things. We stock a range of low and sugar free soft drinks. Gluten intolerant People who are gluten intolerant are not allowed to eat any cereal or grain products. It is a particularly restrictive diet and liaison with the guest is advised. Lactose intolerant People who are lactose intolerant are not allowed milk products in any form

6. Product Provenace

Meats All meat that we purchase is British and mostly comes from the surrounding counties Hertfordshire, Bedford, Kent and Surrey and is Red tractor accredited. Fish All fish provided is recommended by the Marine Conservation Society as, “Fish to eat”. These choices have no definitive ‘right or wrong’ guidelines, but at St George’s Hospital we underline our commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainability, ensuring we meet today’s needs while protecting tomorrow. Fruit & Vegetables Our veg supplier Prescott thomas delivering to St Georges since 2004 delivering the freshest fruit, vegetables and speciality ingredients with unrivalled attention to detail. Stemming from four generations of green grocers and with over 100 years of combined experience, the team have filled some of London’s best kitchen fridges.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page.

8. Labour Charges

Weekdays : Out of hours (after 16:00) @ £18 per hour; Weekends : Minimum is £18 x 8hrs = £144 & exceeding which will be @ £18 per hour.
